Once a year divers have the opportunity to witness one of natures miracles. This week our lucky guests were at the right place at the right time. On the eighth day after the full moon in August is when the coral spawns. This is the one time a year coral reproduces. Less than 1% of all eggs will actually be fertilized and attach to substrate to begin new coral colonies. Just another reason why it is so important to protect this nonrenewable natural resource!
Congratulations to Stephanie R., Barbara S. and Cesar R. on the completion of their Open Water Diver certification! Congratulations also to Mallory F. on the completion of her Nitrox certification.
Until next week,
Your friends at Dockside Dive Center!
